I have entered a race for 2014 *waits patiently for applause*.
I know. Many of you have already run your first races and most of you are half way through marathon and half marathon training programmes! But I am paralysed by indecision, a state I frequently find myself in.
On Janathon Day 10 I asked for advice about which half and marathon races I should consider for 2014. Despite having previously ruled out the Loch Ness Marathon in September due to the hills it has now been reinstated as my No 1 choice after some selective reading of other people’s blogs. Now all I need to decide is should I really, actually, commit myself to running (and training for) a marathon. Really. Actually. A marathon?
I am tempted to create a survey monkey and send it out to all Janathon participants. Except that I strongly suspect that you are a sadistic lot and I will find myself entered in an Ultra Marathon before the month is over.
So, yes, I entered a race. It is not a marathon, nor is it a half marathon. It is the Bupa Great Edinburgh 10 mile race on the 27th April. I think it is the perfect stepping stone for a half marathon in either May or June and then for a Marathon on the 28th of September (that I reserve the right not to enter if I get too scared).
And for Janathon I went to the third session of my beginner’s yoga class.
