Janathon Day 2 – A Winter Walk

Today I met up with my work friend, Sarah and we went to Loch Ard, located in the Trossachs part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. We parked at the southern end of the loch and followed some of the marked routes, sometimes ending up in dead ends when we stopped paying attention. If any of the photos are familiar to eagle eyed readers; I took my parents to the same spot during Juneathon 2014 and my running friends there for a long run in July: It is close to home, has well marked trails and great views – the perfect spot!

The weather was what could best be described as ‘mixed’: rain, hail, sleet, sunshine, rain, hail, sleet!

We ended the day with a stop in a cafe in Aberfoyle for a bacon buttie and the most enormous piece of carrot cake you’ve ever seen (I forgot to take a photo so you’ll just have to believe me!).

Walk: about 7 miles.

  1. Some of those pictures look lovely – the weather sounds less pleasurable!

  2. Great pictures — and well done on the weather too!

  3. Looks like a lovely place to run but a bit brrrrr!

  4. Again… all I read was “.. bacon buttie and the most enormous piece of carrot cake”.
